is a writing style tutor which includes a series of exercises that teach a writer four of the traditional ways to create sentences.The instructional method used is an adaption of the traditional classic method used to teach style (through copy exercises and imitation). The writer should read the model sentence, say it aloud, copy it in the copy book, and imitate it by writing at least 5 sentences similar in construction to the model sentence. Hopefully, this process will register the sentence form in the writer's memory--so that he or she can then apply it to his or her own writing.
The four traditional sentence styles include: cumulative, periodic, parallel, and antithetical. Copy Exercises explains each type, gives models, and provides a text area to practice the styles. Students can print their work.
