GREP (Global Regular Expression Parser) tools have traditionally been used for searching for data from files or data streams on many different types of computers.

GreppesTextTools includes two tools: PDGREPPE and FGREPPE.

PDGREPPE searches by Extended Regular Expressions and is similar to EGREP on UNIX systems. It reuses search patterns from user-created definition files, and allows you to use named marked groups of pattern data that may be reused later in search or replace patterns.

FGREPPE is a simpler tool, similar to FGREP on UNIX systems, which performs a search and replace based on fixed patterns.

GreppesTextTools features include screen paging, word wrap, highlighting of match areas, a recursive descent into file system, and multiple drive specifications. Each tool uses CLI (Command Line Interface) and can be customized for international text bytes, data logging, default directories, and extended command line files. Both can edit by interactive or automatic modes with full respect for file-sharing properties.
