Overview
lets you create screensavers as you would in a paint or drawing program.
In depth
Xsaver lets you create, alter and place bitmap images, multiple rectangles, ellipses, polygons, texts, fade effects, flying animations, and more. You can define the time to delay between drawing operations, or the speed at which some operations are performed. You can select one or more elements and move cut, copy, paste or change the order in which things are drawn. You can alter the properties of an element precisely (its width, height, color, transparency and other qualities). You can hide or reveal layers. You can preview the behavior of a single element or the entire sequence.
When you are finished you can click a button to generate a Windows Screensaver and place the screensaver file (SCR) in the Windows directory.
Verdict
Xsaver runs on Windows 3.1 and is available under the Demo license — the installer is 1 MB. We’ve catalogued it under Utilities and Tools.
