Using this program, users are able to place 3D characters into pre-made environments, add actions, sound effects, music, text, speech, and special effects then show these movies off to friends, family, and the world. 3D Movie Maker features two helper characters to guide users through the various features of the program: The character McZee provides help throughout the studio while his assistant Melanie provides other various tutorials. 3D Movie Maker Installation Instructions
- Download the "Microsoft 3D Movie Maker.ISO" file.- Using any good CD authoring software, burn the .iso to a blank CD.
- Once the burning is complete, you have an exact copy of the real 3D Movie Maker CD!
- Install 3D Movie Maker and download the expansion packs.
Burning the 3D Movie Maker image file (.iso) to a Blank CD
- Download MagicISO Application- Launch the 'MagicISO' application and select 'Burn CD/DVD with ISO...' from the 'Tools' menu.
- Insert a blank CD oe DVD into your CD-R/DVD drive.
- Choose your CD-R/DVD drive.
- Select the "Microsoft 3D Movie Maker.ISO" image file that you downloaded.
- Choose CD-R/DVD Write Speed in Speed Combox.
- Check the optional "Burn Proof".
- Click "Burn it!" button to start burning the Disc.
System Requirements
- Multimedia PC with a 486/50 MHz or higher processor- Microsoft Windows 95 operating system , Microsoft Windows NT, version 3.51 or Windows XP.

- Super VGA 256-color monitor, works on newer monitors as well
- Local bus or PCI bus video - Unless your graphics card or motherboard is older than 3DMM, you don't need to worry about this
- 16-bit sound card, plus headphones or speakers (microphone also recommended) - as long as working audio in and out are configured in Windows, you're set
- PS2 or USB mouse or compatible pointing device such as a trackpad or touch screen. Pointing device requirements are extremely simple - the device must be able to move a pointer on the desktop and have at least one button for left-click
3DMM System Compatibility
3DMM requires Wine version 1.4 or later to run. On Ubuntu, you cannot record your voice directly in 3DMM- Running 3DMM in Windows XP fullscreen, meaning when dragging objects near the edge of the screen, they will likely fly off - if you are using XP, you could run 3DMM in compatibility mode as Windows 98 but that doesn't seem to solve anything.
- It is much easier to use a disc image and mount it using disc image mounting software such as VirtualCloneDrive
- Do not Store your 3DMM movies on floppy discs.
- Do not Run Windows 98 in a virtual machine, because you won't be able to use any audio recording devices.
- Common problems occurred when the No-CD Trick and launching 3DMM via v3dmm are combined. If you are running Windows XP, it's quite easy to use VirtualCloneDrive to mount the disc image, saving you the hassle of actually inserting the physical disc into a disc reader.
