A closer look at Kanji School

The Kanji are divided into six grades, very similar to the way they are taught in Japan. The grades are further split into four parts called semesters. For example, the first grade contains 100 Kanji (25 Kanji per semester).

With search capabilities, a drawing pad, and test features, Kanji School is a robust learning environment.

It includes three sample words for each Kanji to help you build a vocabulary, as well as the ability to save personal comments for each Kanji.

The program also includes two tests, and the ability to perform searches using English meanings.

Although these 1,000 Kanji only represent about 50% of the 1,945 Kanji normally taught until the end of High School, studies demonstrate that mastery of these 1,000 Kanji enable the Japanese student to read 90% of all written material in Japan.
